NSS unit was established as centenary birth year on 24th September 1969 which was inaugurated by Dr. S. R. Kanti Central Education Minister. The University has 389 affiliated colleges and among those 276 colleges has been allotted 316 NSS Units with 25000 NSS volunteers. The NSS cell is assisted by cental government and state government.

Objectives of Unit:

• To solve the social problems.
• To identify the necessities of society.
• To understand the civic responsibilities.
• To come to rescue of natural calamities.
• To imbibe service culture

Activities:

• Regular cleaning of campus
• Protection ground water
• Establishment of literacy centers
• Conducting annual special camps in adopted villages every year
• Awareness programmes on social evils.

N.S.S unit of our college had dedicated itself to the service of the Nation and has proved successful in the character building among the volunteers and construction works in its adopted villages and special camps. With the programme of admitting 100 students every year, the NSS unit of our college is a center of human activities.

There is immense strength among the students to serve the community, NSS is the proper organization that provides an opportunity to develop a sense of discipline dedication and service. The youths, who utilize their time, talent and energy for voluntary social work, will get the feeling of being useful to the country and will have the satisfaction of having contributed their share to the common good. NSS a scheme of education through service coming face to face with the problems of the disadvantaged section of the society & to make efforts to solve their problems, is a unique experience for the students. This rich experience in NSS will have a dynamic influence in shaping the personality of students.

ABOUT US

The S. P. Mandal’s Arts and Commerce College Raibag is established in the year 1974 with an object to develop education in all spheres life, specially providing educational facilities for the deprived sections of society for their progress and upliftment. The college provides education in Arts, Commerce UG Programmes and PG Programmes in Commerce. The college is permanently affiliated to Rani Channamma University Belagavi. The college is recognized by University Grant Commission (UGC) under 2(f) & 12(B). This esteem institution is Re-accredited at ‘B’ Grade by NAAC. Since the inception of our college it is proving quality higher education in this rural and backward area.
